It happens with all great leaders, saints, sects, cults. When the towering person dies his followers immediately start their own agenda, greed engulf the mission. Osho, born Chandra Mohan Jain, and also known as Acharya Rajneesh from the 1960s onwards, as Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh, during the 1970s and 1980s and as Osho from 1989, was one of the best thinker, revolutionary philosopher, visionary , mystic, guru was no exception. After his death three of his firangi disciples viz. Michael O'Byrne (alias Swami Jayesh), George Meredith (alias Swami Amrito) and Darcy O'Byrne (Swami Yogendra), leaders of the Osho faction which took full control of the Osho trusts after his controversial death in his Pune commune on January 19, 1990. The classic case is that all the Rajneesh's siblings as well as his parents became his disciples.Michael, George and Darcy did not permitted to be a part of Osho Commune at Koregaon Park, Pune. The Ashram spreading in 35 acre prime area of upmarket Koregaon Park
is now property of trust controlled over these three firnagi followers. It is also reported that the trust is going to handover this asharm to builders for a Bhajan (song!).
Rajneesh was having 9 more siblings, Shailendra was one of the younger brother.
He was born on 17th June, 1955 . He joined Osho’s Neo-Sannyas movement in 1971. He did his MBBS from Jabalpur University in 1978. He lived in Osho Commune in Pune during 1978-81. He went to Rajneeshpuram, Oregon, USA in 1981 and lived with Osho till 1985.Married to Osho Priya who was also disciple of Osho for long time. She was very good at singing and used to sing at Ashram.
He came back to India and served in Orient Paper Mills at Amlai (MP) as Chief Medical Officer during 1986-99. He again went to Osho Commune, Pune during August 89-September 90 during last days of Osho leaving His body.
How Oshodhara started? After Osho's death and thereafter control of Osho's properties and legacy by his three four firnagi deciples was a very frustrating time for his loyal and devoted followers. One of them was Swami Sidharth.
Swami Siddhartha started conducting Anand Pragya in various parts of country to run legacy of Osho. He visited Amalai on 27th November, 1997 to conduct Anand Pragya in Orient Paper Mills where Shailendra was CMO and his wife Priya was Music Teacher. Sidharth gave Shailendra and Priya a new hope and promised to take them on the spiritual path ahead.
On 19th January, 1998 a sort of miracle happened if you believe Shailendra. Priya started hearing a sourceless melodic sound. In the evening when Shailendra returned from job, she wanted to tell him about this strange wordless voice. She said, “Do you know, something went wrong with my ears. Since morning meditation, I hear some mysterious music continuously.” To this Shailendraji exclaimed, “What! The same thing I was going to tell you.” Both of them could not figure out anything regarding it. Being a doctor Shailendraji was sure it wasn’t an ear disorder.
Just around the same time Osho Siddharthaji again came to visit Amalai and invited them to attend Samadhi Pragya Program at a beautiful hill station called- AMAKANTAK. She and her husband were in the first batch of 21 people to attend the Samadhi Pragya program under his guidance. Gradually, while undertaking the program, they understood that the sound they were listening to was in fact Divine Sound. They developed a deep love and trust for him and confidence that they would be able to experience what Osho, Nanak, Kabir, Buddha, Mahavir and many other saints had experienced.
The presence of Osho Siddhartha brought hope along with festivity in their life. Their journey of spirituality became piece of cake under his guidance.

Swami Shailenra insists that Oshodhara is not a new faction in the world of Osho or the world of spiritualism. It is like Ganges in which almost all the Himalayan Rivers find their entry. Oshodhara knows no faction. It represents aspirations of all the seekers of all the religions, of all the traditions, all over the world. Although, like Ganges, it emerges from Himalayas of Osho, it is of all the seekers, it is for all the seekers and it is by all the seekers of the world. In addition to more than 50 Dhyan Samadhi Kendras operating in India and abroad various large residential complexes, known as Dhams, have been established in India and Nepal, where Oshodhara Samadhi Groups are regularly being conducted by Swami Sidharth, Swami Shailendra and Osho Priya as well as other Acharyas.
